VIRTUAL AUDIO DEVICE - VB-AUDIO VIRTUAL CABLE

VB-AUDIO VIRTUAL CABLE

This VB-AUDIO VIRTUAL CABLE worked extremely well during my tests with FLDIGI and MUMBLE.  It never glitched or crashed during a - 2 day -  24/7 test - with the FLdigi morse code audio tone output sending CW(from a repeating text file) using the VB-AUDIO VIRTUAL CABLE to connect to the MUMBLE input.

Very easy to setup and use.

- Here are a few screenshots of my setup -

Select VB-Audio Virtual Cable for the MUMBLE INPUT

All audio travels over this VB-AUDIO VIRTUAL CABLE just like a sound card - from FLDIGI right over to the MUMBLE INPUT.  In order to hear FLdigi yourself, however, you will have to use an audio repeater application to grab the VB-AUDIO and send it to your normal sound card.   I have used several applications for this and all of them are free software and do a good job.

Here is an example of another great use for the VB-AUDIO VIRTUAL CABLE.  Pictured below are two instances of EhoCW software cw keyer in iambic mode.(for more info on this setup with EhoCW see HERE)  One of the them sends cw audio to the sound card for sidetone monitoring, the other one duplicates the cw keying of the first one exactly, however, it sends its audio through the VB-AUDIO VIRTUAL CABLE to the input of mumble as pictured above.(or to the audio input of any other morse code over the internet system like iCW)

NEW VERSION OF VB-CABLES - with many improvments

    VB-CABLE Package 42 (Version 1.0.3.2)

    June 25, 2013 at 6:12am

VB-CABLE (Virtual audio driver working as virtual audio cable) comes today with a new version (1.0.3.2) bringing different improvements:

Extended sample rate support: from 8000 Hz to 96 kHz , the new VB-CABLE can also support non-standard sample-rate (under XP, client application can configure freely audio pins) since a conversion ratio can be found (otherwise the VB-CABLE will produce silence). Basically it supports sampling rate dividable by 75, 100 or 300.

Configurable Internal Sample rate: To transport audio signal without conversion it will be possible by setting internal samplerate of the cable in order to fit the same samplerate of audio Pin (only for 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 kHz frequency).

Low Latency Support: the VB-CABLE will better support low latency by it's ability to detect time drift and audio drops, then will automatically re-buffer audio to quickly come back to a stable stream.

    - NEW PRODUCT FROM VB-AUDIO -

    VOICEMEETER AUDIO MIXER

HERE IS A SETUP OF VOICEMEETER MIXER FOR MORSE CODE OVER THE INTERNET

NOTE: click on picture for full size view

    DESCRIPTION OF SETUP:

    1.  INPUT 1,  is vb-cable A,  which is receiving audio from any cw keyboard app, and not only is able to send it to the soundcard in near zero latency for monitoring of the cw sidetone, but also sends it to audio output "B", which is a virtual sound card which connects to the input of any MORSE CODE OVER THE INTERNET PROGRAM like MUMBLE on iCW.

    2.  INPUT 2, is using VB-CABLE B, which is only receiving the output of MUMBLE, and by not selecting the B circle on this input mixer,  then the audio from this 2nd input only goes to the real soundcard and not the virtual soundcard(which prevents the MUMBLE output from getting back into the MUMBLE input)

    3.  INPUT 3, is the mixer's own virtual sound card, voicemeeter vaio, which receives the audio from a software cw keyer like dahdidah.  It sends the audio to BOTH output A, and output B, so that you can monitor the sidetone in near zero latency, AND send that same audio over to the voicemeeter vaio virtual sound card which connects to the input of MUMBLE or any other morse code over the internet program input.  ALSO:  this virtual input channel has BASS, MIDS, and TREBLE EQ, which when adjusted,  really helps to clean up the cw audio tones of dahdidah's output sound.
