Hey Les ! I have just set up my QRQCW page with photo. Thanks for the info. I enjoyed chatting with you via the landline on Sunday. Our friendship goes back more than 40 years. Your help in the early 60s with getting me into Amateur Radio is greatly appreciated.

Hello Les, What's up lately. I was just thinking about the days when I first started learning CW. I used to listen to weather transmissions from Dakar on an old RCA  AR-88 receiver at Piarco Airport. They transmitted 5 digit codes at approximately 25 WPM. That was back in the 1960's and 70's. Listening to the different transmitters around south america, The Caribbean and africa, you would find a variety of different and distinct cw tones. They were quite interesting to listen to. Zanderij (PZI) had a very chirpy tone as I remember. Brings back lots of memories .
