I am not a QRQ operator. I have been almost 100% CW since I was first licensed in 1970, but never operated over 20 WPM. My dad (WB8iTT) SK was a QRQ operator, CFO #85, He could comfortably carry on a conversation in the shack while running QRQ speeds on the air. I don't think that I have his raw talent, but I'm getting the urge to jump to QRQ CW. This site looks like it will be very helpful in doing that.
What speed do you like to run QRQ CW
Don't laugh 20 WPM
Your favorite key, paddle or bug
ZN-SLH single lever
Your favorite cw keyboard
I don't use a keyboard
Your favorite cw sending software
Your Rig, Antenna and RF Power
Flex 6500 with a KPA-500 amplifier
Your QSK preferences
I used to run QSK when I had a K3, it was as smooth as silk, not so much though with the Flex. I have QSK disabled right now with the hope that future software updates will improve it.
Your favorite headphones or speakers for listening to cw
Sony MDR-7506 headphones and Fostex 6301B speakers. The Sony headphones are great for long rag chews.
What has been your most effective way of training practice, to copy and send qrq cw
I just discovered this website and the Fabian QRQ training.
