One of the group sent me a tip on a great deal offered by K1EL at http://www.k1el.com/. Click on the 'Special Deals' icon at the top left of the Home Page to see it. Steve is offering a 'bare bones' version of his K40 keyboard keyer kit. He gives you two PICs , the memory IC, the keyboard connector, the SIP resistors, and the PC board. The builder supplies the other stuff needed to complete the project. You can also download the project manual. The gizmo uses a PS/2 keyboard for input. The output keys the rig. Take a look.
