Been ham 32years, I try to have at least one meaningful QSO per day, even with the poor conditions. I love a good rag chew and found that is the best way to improve your sending and copy.
What speed do you like to run QRQ CW
40 right now
Your favorite key, paddle or bug
Vibroplex Vibrokeyer single paddle with jeweled movement & now trying to master my McElroy Deluxe.
Your favorite cw keyboard
Not using a keyboard or computer for copy at all. Don't want to take the work and pleasure of accomplishing something away.
Your favorite cw sending software
My favorite cw sending is via the Key, not interested in software to send.
Your Rig, Antenna and RF Power
Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark 5 along with a 3 element yagi 10-15-20 150 Watts, have a Ameritron AL-811H, but only use on 80 meters. Other antenna is a 450 ohm fed inverted vee, loads up on all bands with help from my Heathkit SA-2040 tuner.
Your QSK preferences
My rig is good up to about 50 wpm QSK...
Your favorite headphones or speakers for listening to cw
Use a Sony MDR-XD200, much better comfort than the Heil I use to use. The pro set 3 is nice but very uncomfortable.
What has been your most effective way of training practice, to copy and send qrq cw
On the air QSO's and getting in some contests. Really enjoy listening to some outstanding QRQ ops and just trying to copy in my head and once in awhile I jump in and find out I still need lots of work. But you know it's fun and I am not afraid to do it.
