We have a 12 out of 12 success rate so far in getting iCW setup and running !

TWO MP3 FILES ARE ATTACHED TO DEMONSTRATE iCW AUDIO at QRS and QRQ.

A preview of the instructions can be viewed on the iCW TAB on the menu header above on this site, or at the google groups site. We could use a few more alpha testers to help us out. If you have any questions or run into any snags in getting your iCW working, please visit us on our google groups page and we will try to help you.

Thanks !

I have heard good reports on this USB SOUND CARD and it very reasonably priced, @40 bucks...
has a nice heaphone jack with a volume control and is supposed to be ULTRA LOW LATENCY which is good for iCW QSK performance...there are many options and the ones shown in this forum are just a couple...probably the best yet would be to use a PCIexpress sound card....but now you are talking a big price...but you don't have the USB audio issues as described above and you can use an ASIO DRIVER...
for even better low latency high performance audio pathways through the computer...

TO TEST YOUR COMPUTER FOR ITS ABILITY TO HANDLE AND PROCESS LIVE STREAMING AUDIO
run this free program called DPC LATENCY CHECKER
here is a picture of DPC running on my computer:

the ABSOLUTE value needs to be less than 1000us for minimal drop outs and clicks and pops in the live streaming CW audio

DPC LATENCY CHECKER
I ran the checker on my aging laptop (Dell Latitude D510) and here are the results. In the first image, Mumble/FLDigi were not running, and I launched a program (that's where the red spike occurs). In the second image, Mumble/FLDigi are running, along with Photoshop, firefox, spysweeper and a couple other apps -- but the system was in "steady state." This might explain the clicks and pops I run into with iCW. In a couple months I will have a faster PC...
