I have two IBM keyboards that I bought on EBAY. I have been using them for a few years now and the half dozen other boards that I have layinng around here just don't compare. Suggest you google IBM model M and you will get a lot of information on them. Always a bunch of them for sale on EBAY.

Zen and the Art of Radiotelegraphy - the online book

This book is the result of several years of experience in amateur radiotelegraphy. It suggests, for the first time, a learning methodology based on an integrated and multidisciplinary approach designed to accompany the apprentice from the first steps in ham radio all the way to a world-class proficiency in telegraphy.

The book introduces, ad-hoc tailored to amateur radio, techniques used successfully by competitive athletes, including extreme sports such as free diving, adapted to… Continue

K5TO - Wally - QRQ Appliance Operator?

Ah yes...modern telegraphy with modern radios. On Thursday morning May 21st 2009 I fired up the Jupiter to meet with Ted K5LGJ on 3.530 MHz at 7AM. Ted's got a few years on me at age 89 soon to be 90 (I'll be 72 6/1/09). But at exactly 7AM (yes by WWV stds of course) Ted calls me, but "old" Wally's fumbling around trying to get PC booted to use software CW generator program 'YPLog'. I put out a carrier a couple of times to let Ted know I was there (naturally I don't have a mechanical key as how… Continue

QRQ nets

The sunspots have been scarce so not much chance for me out here on Maui to get on the air practice with QRQ cw. I have been relying on Rufz to get my speed up but it would be nice to get some on the air practice. Are there any QRQ nets out there? If not, maybe we could start planning ahead for the new sunspot cycle by getting some operators together who would be interested in starting a net.

AA0HW 's Quest for QRQ

I first became interested in HAM RADIO when I was about 10 years old. My grandpa gave me a kit from

Radio Shack: 50 ELECTRONIC PROJECTS (I found about 100 things to do with that kit)

My journey towards Ham Radio had begun. Working with the electronic parts and putting together various simple devices was great fun. Looking for more than Radio Shack could offer , a HEATHKIT store near our house came into play. Going there with my father and just looking around, introduced… Continue
